"I have no spiritual authority because I'm young and haven't proven myself yet."
How it sounds in your head: The older guys at church have authority. The pastors, the married men, the ones with their lives together. But me? I'm just starting out. I barely know Scripture. Who am I to command anything in Jesus' name?
"Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
-- Luke 10:19Source: Religion teaching that authority comes through age, position, or spiritual maturity rather than covenant position.
Every authority figure in his life is older—professors, bosses, church leaders. The hierarchy is clear everywhere. Why would spiritual authority be different when he's still figuring out basic adulting?
David was a teenage shepherd boy when Goliath taunted Israel. King Saul said 'You are not able to go against this Philistine, for you are a youth.' David killed the giant anyway—not through years of training, but through covenant authority. The seasoned warriors watched a kid win the battle.
I REFUSE the lie that my age disqualifies my authority. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus GIVES me authority over ALL the power of the enemy. I am not waiting to earn what Christ already purchased with His blood. I stand in the Abrahamic blessing—the BARAK that protected liars and deceivers protects me, and I am in a BETTER covenant. IT IS WRITTEN I am seated in heavenly places RIGHT NOW, not when I'm older or more mature. The enemy has no right to my mind, my future, my finances, or my destiny. I command every lying spirit to GO in Jesus' name, and I receive the abundant life Jesus died to give me TODAY.
The Father isn't waiting for you to age into authority—He placed you in Christ, which means you carry the same authority as the name you speak. The prodigal son got the ring of authority before he proved anything, while still smelling like pigs, because sonship isn't earned through years of service.
