"I have ADHD so I'm broken and will always struggle in life"
How it sounds in your head: I can't focus like other kids. I need medication just to sit still. Teachers are always frustrated with me. I forget things, lose things, can't finish things. I'm defective. This will make everything harder forever.
"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well."
-- Psalm 139:14Medical diagnosis becoming identity curse, world's definition of 'normal' creating false limitation on God's design
Daily medication and constant correction makes ADHD feel like a permanent defect rather than a different wiring. Comparison to 'normal' kids creates sense of brokenness when God may have designed unique wiring for unique purpose.
Samson was impulsive, couldn't focus, chased distractions, made terrible decisions, couldn't control himself around women, told secrets he should have kept. By modern standards, classic ADHD. God made him the STRONGEST MAN ALIVE and delivered Israel through him. His 'disorder' was his DESIGN for warrior calling.
I REFUSE the lie that ADHD makes me broken or limited. IT IS WRITTEN in Psalm 139:14 that I am fearfully and wonderfully MADE—not made wrong, made WONDERFUL. My brain isn't defective; it's DESIGNED for the specific calling God has for me. IT IS WRITTEN in Jeremiah 1:5 that before I was formed in the womb, He knew me and ordained me—He KNEW this wiring and CHOSE it for me. What the world calls disorder, God calls DESIGN. The BARAK blessing doesn't require 'normal'—it made the impulsive into the mighty, the different into deliverers. I am BLESSED in how God made me, BLESSED in the unique way I see the world.
The Father isn't waiting for you to be 'fixed' or 'normal'—He's running toward you celebrating the UNIQUE design He crafted specifically for your destiny. He made Samson impulsive for a reason, and He made you exactly as you are for YOUR reason.
