"I had an eating disorder, so I can't be used in health or wellness ministry."
How it sounds in your head: How can I help other women with their bodies when I spent years destroying mine? I feel like a hypocrite every time I think about speaking into this area. God can heal me, but use me? That feels like too much to ask.
"Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
-- 2 Corinthians 1:4Source: Enemy twisting her testimony into disqualification, making her pain a scarlet letter instead of a resurrection story.
She sees fitness influencers and health coaches who seem like they've always had it together, and she feels like her broken history disqualifies her from that space.
Paul was a murderer of Christians, dragging men and women to prison and death. He didn't wait years to 'prove himself'—Jesus appeared to him, and within DAYS he was preaching in synagogues. God called him the apostle to the Gentiles BECAUSE of his past, not in spite of it.
I REFUSE the lie that my eating disorder disqualifies me from wellness ministry. IT IS WRITTEN that God comforts me so I can comfort OTHERS with that same comfort—my pain is not my disqualification, it's my CREDENTIAL. I am not too broken to be used; I am uniquely positioned to speak LIFE into the exact battle I survived. IT IS WRITTEN that God works ALL things for good—even my darkest struggle is being turned into my greatest MESSAGE. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and the enemy's attack on my body is becoming my platform to declare His RESTORATION. I walk in the BARAK blessing—what the enemy stole, God is multiplying back as TESTIMONY.
The Father isn't looking at your past disorder and shaking His head—He's looking at your future IMPACT and smiling. Paul murdered Christians and became the greatest evangelist. Your eating disorder isn't your disqualification. It's the exact battlefield where God is raising up a WARRIOR to set captives free.
