"I grew up in foster care. I'm the unwanted kid. That abandonment will always define me."
How it sounds in your head: My own parents didn't want me. I was passed between homes like I didn't matter. Everyone else has family stories; I have case files. That rejection is in my bones.
"When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take care of me."
-- Psalm 27:10Enemy using systemic abandonment and childhood rejection to write an orphan identity over her, blocking access to her adoption as God's daughter.
The abandonment was real and repeated. She has no baby pictures, no family traditions, no one who chose her permanently. Every 'forever family' that didn't work out reinforced the unwanted narrative.
Moses was abandoned in a basket in a river, his parents unable to keep him due to Pharaoh's decree. He was raised in a foreign household, disconnected from his biological family. Yet God used him to deliver an entire nation, and his abandonment became part of the PLAN that put him in Pharaoh's palace with the resources to lead Israel.
I REFUSE the lie that foster care makes me unwanted. IT IS WRITTEN that when my father and mother forsake me, the LORD takes care of me. I wasn't rejected—I was REPOSITIONED for divine adoption. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 1:5 that God PREDESTINED me for adoption as His daughter according to His GOOD PLEASURE. Moses was abandoned in a river and became the deliverer of nations; my story is not rejection but DESTINY. The BARAK blessing is my inheritance now—I am the HEAD not the TAIL, blessed coming in and going out. I am not an orphan; I am a DAUGHTER of the Most High God.
The Father isn't sad about your foster care story—He's running toward you with the ROBE that declares you CHOSEN, the RING that declares you HEIR, and the SANDALS that declare you DAUGHTER. You were never unwanted; you were being positioned for a ROYAL adoption.
