"I gave my beauty, my strength, my youth to ministry—and God let me fade away forgotten."
How it sounds in your head: You were vibrant once, full of life and energy. You poured it all out for God's work, and now you're just another old woman no one remembers. Your beauty is gone, your strength is gone, and it feels like God took it all and gave nothing back.
"The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness."
-- Proverbs 16:31World—measures women by youth and beauty, then condemns them for aging after sacrificing those very things.
You see younger women leaders getting attention and opportunities, and you feel invisible now. The mirror shows someone you barely recognize, and it feels like the world—and maybe God—moved on without you.
Sarah was 90 years old, long past beauty and childbearing, when God gave her Isaac—the promised son. Her latter glory exceeded her youth, and her laughter at 90 became the name of nations. God's best for her came when the world said she was finished.
I REFUSE the lie that I faded away forgotten. IT IS WRITTEN that my silver hair is a CROWN OF GLORY. I am not invisible—I am SEEN by the Father who says, 'Even to gray hairs I will carry you.' The world may forget, but God has inscribed me on the palms of His hands. IT IS WRITTEN that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and that doesn't expire with age. The BARAK blessing over my life means I am blessed in youth and in age, in beauty and in wisdom, in strength and in glory. I declare that my BEST is not behind me—it's ahead, in the presence of the Father who's been waiting to crown me.
The Father isn't mourning the loss of your youth—He's marveling at the GLORY you've become, every line a testimony of faithfulness, every gray hair a mark of honor. Like the prodigal, you don't need to be young and shiny to be celebrated—He's running toward you AS YOU ARE, throwing the party for the woman you are NOW, not who you were then.
