"I failed to protect my wife from the pain of infertility and loss."
How it sounds in your head: You're supposed to fix things. Provide. Protect. But you stand helpless watching her cry every month, endure painful treatments, absorb pitying looks. You can't fix her body or shield her heart. What kind of man can't protect his wife from this?
"For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth."
-- Isaiah 54:5Masculine burden to fix everything meets a situation beyond human control.
You literally cannot fix this. Every treatment you paid for failed. You hold her while she grieves and have nothing to offer but empty comfort. Your provider identity is shattered.
Job lost everything including ten children, couldn't protect his wife from grief and bitterness. When Job stopped trying to fix it himself and prayed, God restored DOUBLE—including more children IMMEDIATELY.
I REFUSE the lie that my wife's pain is evidence of my failure. IT IS WRITTEN that her Maker is her husband—God Himself. I am not her Savior, not her source, not the one who carries what only Jesus can. IT IS WRITTEN that I can do nothing apart from the Vine, but IN Him, fruit comes automatically. I release the burden of fixing what only God can heal. The Father is her protector, provider, comforter—and mine. I am the branch, not the vine.
The Father isn't waiting for you to fix this so He can finally move—He's carrying both of you RIGHT NOW, like He carried Job through unthinkable loss and restored DOUBLE. Your job isn't solving; it's abiding with her while the Vine produces fruit.
