"I failed as a mother so God can't trust me with influence over others"
How it sounds in your head: Your kids walked away from faith. Your daughter is angry. Your son won't talk to you. If you couldn't raise your own children successfully, what right do you have to influence anyone else's? You failed the most important job, so sit down.
"The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself."
-- Ezekiel 18:20Religion's performance metric that measures your worth by your children's choices instead of God's choice of you.
When your adult children aren't walking with God or aren't speaking to you, it feels like public proof of private failure. In a demographic where grandchildren and legacy matter intensely, wayward kids feel like disqualifying evidence.
Eli's sons were corrupt priests who blasphemed God, yet God still used Eli to raise and mentor Samuel who became one of Israel's greatest prophets. Bad kids didn't disqualify him from mentoring the next generation's prophet.
I REFUSE the lie that my children's choices disqualify my influence. IT IS WRITTEN that children bear their OWN guilt, not mine. Their current state doesn't define my worth or calling. IT IS WRITTEN that there is no condemnation for those in Christ—not for my parenting, my mistakes, or my kids' rebellion. I am righteous because of HIS blood. I declare my influence is based on God's calling, not my children's current choices. I am anointed to mentor, teach, and lead.
The Father isn't reviewing your parenting scorecard. He's saying 'Your prodigals don't define you—MY choice of you does. I'm going to use your broken mother-heart to reach other broken mothers. Your mess is your ministry credential.'
