"I don't know how to talk to my son about sex and he's going to learn from the wrong sources."
How it sounds in your head: The culture is teaching him things I can't compete with. Porn is everywhere, and I feel awkward bringing it up. By the time I figure out what to say, he'll have already formed his views from the internet, and I'll have missed the window.
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
-- Proverbs 22:6Enemy lie that the culture is more powerful than covenant and that your discomfort disqualifies you from influence.
The statistics on teen porn exposure are terrifying, and you literally don't know what to say or when to say it. The window feels like it's closing or already closed.
Judah literally slept with his daughter-in-law thinking she was a prostitute, had zero moral authority on sexual ethics, yet his line produced JESUS. God redeemed the messiest sexual situation in the patriarchs and made it the Messianic bloodline.
I REFUSE the lie that I missed the window or lack the words. IT IS WRITTEN that when I train my child, he will not depart from it when he's old. The Holy Spirit gives me the words in the moment I need them. IT IS WRITTEN that greater is He who is in my son than he who is in the world. The culture is NOT more powerful than the covenant. The BARAK blessing on my son means he's the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath—including over sexual temptation. God is protecting him.
The Father has already positioned divine interruptions in your son's path that will counteract every lie the culture screams. He's preparing moments of conviction, encounters with truth, and supernatural protection. Your one awkward conversation, surrendered to Him, becomes a seed that He waters into a forest.
