"I don't have the spiritual strength or authority I once had to fight the enemy."
How it sounds in your head: You remember when you were on fire for God—younger, passionate, zealous. You led, you served, you fought battles with confidence. Now you feel like a shell of that man spiritually. Your passion has dimmed, your energy is gone, and you wonder if you've lost your spiritual edge and authority.
"And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places."
-- Ephesians 1:19-20Enemy equating spiritual authority with emotional intensity and physical energy rather than covenant position.
The feelings are different—you don't have the emotional intensity or physical stamina you once had. You can't fast like you used to, pray for hours, or serve with the energy of your younger years. The contrast makes it feel like your spiritual power has diminished.
Was 80 years old when God called him to confront Pharaoh and perform the greatest deliverance in history—didn't start his ministry until most men would be dead. Age and physical decline were IRRELEVANT to spiritual authority—God's power worked through an 80-year-old man with a speech impediment to destroy Egypt's gods.
I REFUSE the lie that I've lost spiritual strength or authority. IT IS WRITTEN that the SAME mighty power that raised Christ from the dead works in ME who believes. My authority is NOT based on my passion, intensity, or physical energy—it's based on Christ's FINISHED WORK. I am seated with Him in heavenly places FAR ABOVE all principality and power. IT IS WRITTEN: You have been given ALL authority in heaven and earth through Jesus. Moses was 80 when God used him to destroy Egypt's gods—my age doesn't diminish covenant authority. The BARAK blessing doesn't expire—I operate in the SAME power available at 20, 40, or 70 because it's HIS power, not mine.
The Father isn't waiting for you to regain the passion of your youth—He's revealing that the authority you thought came from your intensity was HIS all along, and it's fully available NOW regardless of how you feel. Like the Prodigal's father who gave FULL sonship to the broken son, your Father gives you FULL authority not based on your current condition but your POSITION in Christ.
