"I don't have the energy or fire I used to have for ministry and purpose."
How it sounds in your head: You used to be passionate, on fire, ready to change the world. Now you're just tired. The young guys at church have that zeal you remember having, and you feel like you're just going through the motions. Maybe you've burned out and there's nothing left.
"The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills."
-- Habakkuk 3:19Enemy attacking through physical fatigue to steal spiritual identity, magnified by culture's youth obsession.
You literally ARE more tired—sleep is worse, recovery takes longer, hormones are shifting. The passion that once came easily now feels forced, and you wonder if you've lost your calling or if God's moved on to younger vessels.
Moses was 120 years old when he died, and Scripture specifically records that his eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished. His GREATEST work—delivering Israel and receiving the Law—happened between ages 80 and 120, in what the world calls retirement years.
I REFUSE the lie that my fire is extinguished. IT IS WRITTEN that the Lord God is my strength and He makes my feet like deer's feet to walk on high places. I am a branch abiding in the Vine—my job is CONNECTION, not production. IT IS WRITTEN that those planted in God's house flourish and bear fruit in old age, they are fresh and flourishing (Psalm 92:13-14). The BARAK blessing on Abraham's seed doesn't fade with age—it INCREASES. My strength is renewed not by willpower but by abiding in Him who never weakens.
The Father isn't comparing you to the 25-year-old worship leader—He's delighting in THIS version of you, battle-tested and deeper. He's not waiting for you to muster energy; He IS your energy, flowing through you as you simply stay connected.
