"I don't have enough emotional capacity left to give anyone else."
How it sounds in your head: I'm already running on empty, managing everyone's needs and expectations. There's nothing left for my marriage, my kids, my friends—I'm a depleted well trying to water everyone else's garden. One more need and I'll completely break.
"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength."
-- Isaiah 40:29Religious teaching that godly women pour out endlessly without needing replenishment, making depletion sound like virtue.
She genuinely IS exhausted from carrying emotional labor for multiple people, and every day demands more than she has. The guilt of saying no feels worse than the burnout of saying yes.
After massive ministry victory, he collapsed suicidal under a tree saying 'I've had enough.' God didn't rebuke him—He sent an angel with food, let him sleep, and then INSTANTLY strengthened him to walk 40 days on that one meal.
I REFUSE the lie that my capacity is limited to my own reserves. IT IS WRITTEN that God gives power to the WEAK and increases strength to those with NO MIGHT—that's me, and that's my qualification. I am not a well that runs dry but a branch connected to infinite supply. IT IS WRITTEN that rivers of living water flow from my innermost being—not from my effort but from His Spirit. I draw from HIS strength, not mine. I am filled with the Abrahamic blessing that multiplies what I have, not depletes it.
The Father sees your exhaustion and isn't demanding more—He's offering REST and refilling. Like Elijah collapsing in burnout and waking to provision, you don't muster strength; you RECEIVE it from Him who never runs dry.
