"I don't deserve the inheritance because I'm not as good as my siblings."
How it sounds in your head: My sister gets all A's and I get C's. My brother is the 'good one' and I'm the messy one. If there's a blessing to hand out, they'll get it—I'm not good enough to qualify.
"Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness."
-- Romans 4:4-5Performance-based religion twisted into sibling comparison—the enemy making her earn what's freely given by comparing her to others.
She lives in constant comparison at school, at home, on social media. She's already ranking herself and coming up short against siblings who seem to have it together.
Esau was the firstborn, the strong hunter, the favorite. Jacob was the quiet, scheming second son. God chose Jacob for the birthright BEFORE either was born—before they'd done anything good or bad—to show that calling isn't based on works but on His sovereign choice.
I REFUSE the lie that I must out-perform my siblings to deserve the Father's inheritance. IT IS WRITTEN that inheritance comes to those who do NOT work but believe—it's GRACE, not wages. My Father doesn't compare me to anyone; He chose me in Christ before the foundation of the world. IT IS WRITTEN that I am Abraham's seed and heir according to PROMISE—not according to my grades, my behavior, or my sibling ranking. The BARAK blessing flows to me because I'm IN CHRIST, not because I'm better than anyone else. I am fully loved, fully included, fully blessed—right now, as I am, because the Father RUNS toward the messy ones with the robe, ring, and party. I receive my full inheritance TODAY, in Jesus' name.
Papa doesn't have a favorite—He has ALL favorites, and you're one of them. He's not waiting for you to catch up to your siblings; He's already placed the ring on YOUR finger, the robe on YOUR shoulders, and He's throwing the party for YOU right now.
