"I don't deserve financial blessing because I've been irresponsible with money."
How it sounds in your head: God blesses good stewards, and you've proven you're not one. You wasted opportunities, spent foolishly, didn't save. Why would He trust you with more when you blew what you had?
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith."
-- Galatians 3:13-14Religion—stewardship theology that makes blessing conditional on financial performance, the prosperity gospel in reverse.
Every financial teacher says stewardship matters. Your track record is evidence you don't qualify. It feels righteous to disqualify yourself.
Abraham LIED to Pharaoh, saying Sarah was his sister to save his own skin—complete failure of faith and integrity. God still DEFENDED him, PLAGUED Pharaoh, and Abraham left Egypt RICHER than when he arrived with livestock, silver, and gold.
I REFUSE the lie that my financial irresponsibility disqualifies me from blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ redeemed me from the curse so Abraham's blessing comes on me through FAITH, not fiscal responsibility. Abraham LIED and left richer. Jacob DECEIVED and stayed blessed. The BARAK protected LIARS, DECEIVERS, and MURDERERS because it's COVENANT-based, not behavior-based. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:29 that I am Abraham's seed and HEIR according to PROMISE. My provision flows from Jesus's blood, not my budget skills. I receive the blessing of Abraham RIGHT NOW—protected, provided for, and prospering—because I'm IN CHRIST, not because I managed money perfectly.
Your Father didn't bless Abraham because he was a great steward—Abraham LIED twice and got richer both times. He blesses you because you're in COVENANT through Jesus's blood, and that's unbreakable regardless of your financial report card.
