"I dominate conversations and take up too much airtime. I need to talk less."
How it sounds in your head: You catch yourself talking too long in meetings and see people's eyes glaze over. Your wife says you interrupt. Your stories go on too long. You monopolize conversations. Better to stay quiet, let others have the floor, stop taking up so much space.
"But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, 'Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose.'"
-- Acts 2:14-15Enemy + social conditioning that your voice is less valuable than silence.
You've been told directly to 'let others talk.' You've watched engagement drop when you speak. You feel guilty after sharing because you took too much time. Silence feels safer than dominating.
Amos wasn't a trained prophet or preacher—just a shepherd and fig farmer. Religious leaders told him to shut up and go home. Amos said, 'The Lord TOOK me and said GO PROPHESY.' He didn't apologize for having a voice. He used it, and his words are SCRIPTURE.
I REFUSE the lie that my voice is too much or that I need to shrink into silence. IT IS WRITTEN that Peter RAISED his voice and 3,000 were saved—my words carry KINGDOM weight when filled with His Spirit. I am not dominating; I am DECLARING what God has placed in my heart. IT IS WRITTEN that the watchman who sees danger and doesn't sound the alarm—his silence is sin. I walk in the BARAK blessing—the covenant that gave Moses a voice before Pharaoh, Elijah a voice before kings, Paul a voice before empires. My voice is not an inconvenience; it's an INSTRUMENT. I speak boldly what the Father speaks to me.
The Father didn't give you a voice so you could muzzle it. While religion says 'tone it down,' He's handing you a MEGAPHONE, saying 'I gave you words that need to be HEARD—now USE them.' He's not counting your minutes; He's amplifying your MESSAGE.
