"I deserve to live paycheck to paycheck because I was irresponsible when I had more money."
How it sounds in your head: When I made good money in my 30s, I spent it on stupid things. Now that I'm barely making it, this is just karma. I had my chance. I should have invested, saved, been wiser. This struggle is what I earned through irresponsibility.
"Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Enemy imposing Eastern karma/reaping theology to replace covenant blessing that flows from God's nature, not our behavior.
There's a clear cause-and-effect she can trace: she had money, she spent foolishly, now she doesn't have money. It feels like natural consequences, which religion confirms as 'biblical stewardship principles.'
Jacob lied, cheated his brother, deceived his father, manipulated his father-in-law—and despite ALL of it, Genesis 30:43 says 'the man became exceedingly prosperous, and had large flocks, female and male servants, and camels and donkeys.' His prosperity wasn't based on his honesty—it was based on the BARAK covenant blessing that couldn't be stopped by his behavior.
I REFUSE the lie that I deserve poverty because of past mistakes. IT IS WRITTEN that God's mercies are new every morning—His provision flows from His faithfulness, not my track record. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK protected liars, deceivers, even murderers because it was COVENANT, not behavior. Jacob deceived everyone and still became exceedingly prosperous. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13 that Christ redeemed me from the curse of poverty. I am blessed coming in and going out, in the city and the field. I receive abundance NOW as my covenant right.
Your Father isn't keeping score of your past financial decisions. Every morning His compassion toward you is FRESH, and His provision flows from who HE is—a good Father—not from what you did or didn't do.
