"I can't trust myself to make good decisions anymore after this disaster."
How it sounds in your head: I made terrible choices. I ignored red flags. I trusted the wrong people. I can't trust my own judgment anymore. I need someone else to make decisions for me because I clearly can't.
"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come."
-- John 16:13Enemy destroying confidence in Holy Spirit's guidance within, making past failure define future discernment.
The decisions he made led to real disaster. Looking back, the red flags were obvious. He ignored wise counsel. The failure proves his judgment was broken.
Peter made the worst decision possible—denied Jesus three times after swearing he'd die for Him. His judgment was spectacularly broken. Jesus' response after resurrection? 'Feed My sheep. Feed My lambs. Feed My sheep.' Jesus TRUSTED him with the entire church after catastrophic failure, because failure doesn't disqualify covenant calling.
I REFUSE the lie that I can't trust myself to make decisions. IT IS WRITTEN: the Spirit of truth guides me into ALL truth and tells me things to come. The Holy Spirit lives IN ME, and one business failure doesn't disqualify His voice in my life. Peter denied Jesus three times and was STILL trusted to lead the church. This failure was part of learning, not proof I'm broken. IT IS WRITTEN: I have the mind of Christ. My discernment is being refined, not destroyed. The Father trusts me with the next decision because I'm a BRANCH connected to the VINE, and the sap of wisdom flows from Him through me.
The Father isn't taking decision-making away from you like you're a child who touched the stove—He's the one who lets us learn by real experience, and He's whispering that this failure taught you more than a decade of playing it safe ever would. He trusts you with the next step not because you're perfect but because you're His son and the Spirit in you is the same one who raised Christ from the dead.
