"I can't reconcile a good God with all the suffering and evil in the world."
How it sounds in your head: You see school shootings, cancer in kids, abuse, genocide. If God is all-powerful and all-good, why doesn't He stop it? The logical problem feels unsolvable, and Christianity's answers feel like cop-outs.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Enemy: Blaming God for evil that originated with the enemy himself, intellectual smokescreen over heart issue.
The suffering is REAL and undeniable. 'Free will' feels like an excuse, and 'God works in mysterious ways' feels like avoiding the question. The intellectual puzzle seems to break Christianity.
Lazarus got sick and died while Jesus delayed coming, causing his sisters intense grief and confusion about why Jesus didn't prevent it. Jesus wept at the tomb, then raised Lazarus from the dead—instant reversal of death itself, revealing God's heart is AGAINST death and suffering, not causing it.
I REFUSE the lie that God causes suffering. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE—God isn't the problem; He's the solution. My intellectual struggle doesn't disqualify my faith; it proves I care about justice. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus WEPT at Lazarus's tomb—God's heart breaks at suffering, then He REVERSES it. I'm under the BARAK blessing—it protected Abraham's family from famine, war, and plagues because God is a DEFENDER, not an attacker. The Father isn't causing the suffering I see; He's the One running toward it with healing, mourning WITH the broken, and He sent Jesus to destroy the works of the devil.
The Father sees your compassion for suffering and He's proud—you sound like Jesus, who wept and got angry at death and pain. He's not asking you to stop caring about injustice; He's revealing that your outrage at evil actually PROVES His existence because that moral compass came from Him.
