"I can't hear God's voice because I'm not spiritual enough or holy enough."
How it sounds in your head: Other people hear Him clearly. I must not be close enough, pure enough, or mature enough. Maybe if I prayed more, read more, sinned less—then He'd talk to me too.
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me."
-- John 10:27Religious elitism creates 'super saints' who hear God while regular believers are deemed too carnal; performance-based intimacy.
She hears testimonies of people getting clear words, dreams, and direction, while she feels like she's praying into silence. She assumes the gap is HER fault—her sin, her inconsistency, her lack of discipline.
Samuel was a CHILD, not a mature prophet, when God spoke to him. He didn't even recognize God's voice at first—he thought it was Eli. God didn't wait for Samuel to 'get holy enough'—He spoke to him AS A KID, and Samuel learned to recognize Him over time.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm not spiritual enough to hear God's voice. IT IS WRITTEN that His sheep hear His voice, and I am HIS SHEEP. Hearing God is not a reward for maturity—it's a BIRTHRIGHT of belonging. IT IS WRITTEN that He leads me beside still waters and restores my soul. I am Abraham's seed, blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. God is not withholding His voice until I earn it—He is SPEAKING, and I am learning to listen. I hear Him clearly, I recognize His voice, and I follow Him with confidence.
The Father isn't saving His words for the 'advanced class.' He's whispering to you constantly—in creation, in Scripture, in that gentle nudge you almost dismissed. He's not waiting for you to be holier—He's waiting for you to BELIEVE He speaks to YOU, beloved, messy and magnificent, right now. He's running toward you with words of LIFE, and He won't stop talking just because you're still learning to listen.
