"I can't hear God clearly about giving because I'm not spiritual enough yet."
How it sounds in your head: Other people seem to hear God's voice about sowing seeds and get these clear promptings. I'm still figuring out how to hear Him—I'll give when I'm more mature and can actually hear His direction.
"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me."
-- John 10:27Source: religious comparison creating spiritual hierarchy; enemy's tactic to delay obedience through false maturity requirement.
Mature Christians seem so confident about their giving decisions while I second-guess everything. It feels irresponsible to give based on shaky discernment—better to wait until I'm sure I'm hearing God.
Regular disciple, not an apostle—got a clear word from God to go pray for Saul (the CHRISTIAN-KILLER). Argued briefly, then obeyed, and participated in the most significant conversion in church history—instant Kingdom impact from simple obedience.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm not spiritual enough to hear God about giving. IT IS WRITTEN that HIS sheep hear His voice—I am His, therefore I HEAR. I have the mind of Christ RIGHT NOW, not after I mature. The Holy Spirit LIVES in me and teaches me all things. IT IS WRITTEN that He guides me into all truth. I don't need advanced discernment to obey clear Scripture—honor God with firstfruits, bring tithes to the storehouse. My hearing SHARPENS through obedience, and I trust His voice because I'm His son under the BARAK blessing. I hear clearly because I BELONG to the Good Shepherd.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to achieve spiritual maturity before speaking—He's speaking NOW and delighting in your infant steps of trust. The prodigal didn't need theology training; the Father ran while he was still FAR OFF.
