"I can't tithe AND leave an inheritance — I have to choose my family's future."
How it sounds in your head: You've worked your whole life to leave something for your kids and grandkids. If you give 10% away now, that's tens of thousands less for them later. Blood is thicker than church budgets. Your family comes first — that's biblical.
"I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."
-- Psalm 37:25Source: Enemy using family loyalty to block generational blessing flow, creating false either/or choice.
You've saved specifically to bless your children and grandchildren after you're gone, and reducing that feels like failing your legacy responsibility. The math is simple — every tithe dollar is one less inheritance dollar.
Job lost EVERYTHING — all his wealth and all ten children died. In the end, God restored double what he lost financially AND gave him ten more children, and his daughters were the most beautiful in the land and received inheritance with their brothers — extraordinary generational blessing after devastating loss.
I REFUSE the lie that tithing steals from my family's inheritance or that I must choose between God and grandchildren. IT IS WRITTEN that the righteous and their descendants are never forsaken, and IT IS WRITTEN that a good man leaves inheritance to children's children (Proverbs 13:22). My covenant obedience doesn't reduce their blessing — it MULTIPLIES it. The BARAK that blessed Abraham's seed for generations flows through my giving, not my hoarding. God's math is supernatural. My faithfulness secures their future better than my 401k ever could. I leave them blessing, not just money.
Your Father isn't forcing you to choose between Him and your grandchildren — He wants to bless BOTH through your obedience. He's the God who gave Abraham more descendants than stars and made them all heirs of promise, and your faithful giving secures generational blessing they can't earn and you can't buy.
