"I can't enjoy food anymore—eating is just medical maintenance now, joyless and forced."
How it sounds in your head: Meals used to be pleasure. Now it's pureed textures, dietary restrictions, someone else feeding you. The smell of real food makes you sick. Eating is a chore you have to survive three times a day.
"Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!"
-- Psalm 34:8Enemy stealing present joy by replacing God's good gift of food with clinical necessity and removing pleasure from provision.
Taste buds have changed, swallowing is difficult, appetite is gone, and food literally doesn't taste like it used to. Medical teams treat meals like medication schedules, not celebrations.
Depressed, suicidal, no appetite, wanted to die. Angel touched him and said, 'Arise and eat.' The food supernaturally sustained him FORTY DAYS. God can make one meal do the work of a thousand when natural appetite fails.
I REFUSE the lie that food has become joyless clinical maintenance. IT IS WRITTEN to taste and SEE that the Lord is good—and He is good in every bite, every texture, every provided meal. My taste buds may have changed, but God's GOODNESS hasn't. He prepares a table before me even in the presence of my enemies—decline, disease, difficulty. IT IS WRITTEN that man does not live by bread alone but by every word from God's mouth. I receive both His provision AND His presence in every meal. He turns water into wine—He can turn pureed food into JOY.
The Father isn't offended that you can't taste like you used to. He sees your willingness to receive what He provides, and He calls that WORSHIP. He's already planning the Marriage Supper where every sense will explode with pleasure.
