"I can't afford to tithe or give when I'm drowning in debt — God understands I need to fix this first."
How it sounds in your head: It seems like math, not faith. You reason that God is practical and wants you to handle obligations before giving. Surely He doesn't expect you to give what you don't have.
"Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it."
-- Malachi 3:10Scarcity mindset rooted in trust in human wisdom over Kingdom economics and fear disguised as responsibility.
Every financial advisor says pay debt first, and your bank account screams that there's nothing left to give. It feels irresponsible to give when creditors are calling.
She was destitute, barely surviving, and gave her LAST two coins — everything she had to live on. Jesus didn't rebuke her for being irresponsible; He honored her as giving MORE than all the wealthy people combined.
I REFUSE the lie that debt disqualifies me from Kingdom generosity. IT IS WRITTEN that God challenges me to TEST Him in tithing and He will open Heaven's windows with blessing I cannot contain. I don't give from surplus; I give from FAITH in the God who multiplies seed sown. IT IS WRITTEN in Luke 6:38 that the measure I give will be measured back to me — pressed down, shaken together, running over. My debt is temporary but my position as a blessed child of Abraham is ETERNAL.
Your Father isn't waiting for your finances to stabilize before inviting you into the joy of generosity. He's inviting you to test Him NOW, to watch Him make a way where there is none, to experience the windows of heaven opened over your impossible situation.
