"I can't admit I'm struggling because leaders have to have it all together."
How it sounds in your head: You're supposed to be the strong one everyone leans on. If you crack and show weakness, you'll lose credibility and people will lose faith. Real leaders suffer in silence—that's the cost of the calling.
"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
-- 2 Corinthians 12:9-10Religion created a fake standard where leaders perform strength instead of modeling dependence on God, making vulnerability look like disqualification.
You've seen leaders fall from pedestals when they showed weakness, and your generation of men was taught that admitting struggle is weakness. The higher the platform, the harder the fall—so you perform strength you don't feel.
Paul publicly listed his struggles—beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked, sleepless, hungry, in danger constantly. He didn't hide his weakness; he BOASTED in it because that's where God's strength showed up. His credibility came from God's power in his weakness, not from pretending to have it together.
I REFUSE the lie that I must hide my struggles to lead well. IT IS WRITTEN that His strength is made PERFECT in my weakness, and I gladly boast in my infirmities so Christ's power can rest on me. My credibility isn't my performance—it's HIS power working through my dependence. When I am weak, THEN I am strong because His grace is sufficient. IT IS WRITTEN there is NO CONDEMNATION for those in Christ Jesus—my struggle doesn't disqualify me. The BARAK protects me even when I'm weak, just as it protected Abraham when he lied. I walk in GRACE, not performance, and I lead from DEPENDENCE, not fake strength.
Father isn't shocked by your struggle—He already knows and is running toward you with the robe of righteousness, not a scorecard. He celebrates leaders who boast in weakness because that's where His strength shines brightest.
