"I ask too many questions. People want simple faith, not my constant processing."
How it sounds in your head: Why can't I just accept things like everyone else? I'm the one always asking 'but what about...' while others nod and smile. My doubts and questions feel like evidence that my faith is weak, not strong.
"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings."
-- Proverbs 25:2Religion: Mistaking curiosity for rebellion and questions for unbelief.
You've been told to 'just have faith' when you asked hard questions, felt the judgment when you couldn't accept pat answers, watched simple believers get praised while your wrestling gets labeled doubt. Church culture rewards certainty, not seekers.
He said he wouldn't believe Jesus rose unless he put his finger in the nail holes and his hand in Jesus' side - INTENSE skepticism. Jesus didn't rebuke him. He SHOWED UP eight days later and said 'Put your finger here. Touch my side.' He met Thomas EXACTLY where his questions were. Thomas immediately declared 'My Lord and my God' - INSTANT BELIEF.
I REFUSE the lie that my questions disqualify me from deep faith. IT IS WRITTEN that it is the GLORY OF KINGS to search out a matter - and I am royalty, co-heir with Christ, DESIGNED to dig deep. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, my seeking EVIDENCE of hunger, not doubt. The BARAK blessing covers my MIND - blessed in my questions, blessed in my discoveries, WISDOM commanded over my understanding. IT IS WRITTEN that if any lacks wisdom, ask God who gives GENEROUSLY without finding fault. I am Thomas - my questions INVITED Jesus closer, not pushed Him away. My processing is my WORSHIP.
The Father is NOT frustrated by your questions - He's EXCITED you're finally asking them. He's running toward you with ANSWERS you didn't know existed, celebrating that you care enough about truth to wrestle, not settle.
