"I am 'a diabetic' — this disease is my permanent identity and defines who I am now."
How it sounds in your head: You introduce yourself differently now. 'I'm a diabetic,' you say at restaurants, at family gatherings. The medications are who you are. The limitations are your new name. Your medical chart has become your identity card.
"But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: 'Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine.'"
-- Isaiah 43:1Enemy assignment to replace your covenant identity with a diagnosis label, making temporary symptoms feel like permanent destiny.
You've said it hundreds of times to doctors, pharmacists, waiters — the label has become automatic. Your daily routine revolves around managing it, so it feels inseparable from who you are.
For 12 years everyone called her 'the woman with the issue' — her bleeding became her identity, her social label, her permanent status. One touch of Jesus and IMMEDIATELY she was freed — He called her 'Daughter,' restoring her true name and identity in an instant.
I REFUSE the lie that any diagnosis defines who I am. IT IS WRITTEN that God has called me by MY name — I am HIS, not the disease's. My identity is REDEEMED, BELOVED, WHOLE — not patient, not case number, not chronic condition. The enemy assigned this label but IT IS WRITTEN in Isaiah 62:2 that I will be called by a NEW name which the mouth of the LORD will name. I am a son of the Most High God, blessed with the blessing of Abraham, and no temporary symptom can rename what God has eternally established.
The Father sees you running toward Him carrying medical files and diagnosis papers, and He's sprinting to you shouting 'THAT'S NOT YOUR NAME!' He's ripping up the labels, clothing you in the robe of righteousness, putting the ring of authority on your hand, and throwing a party because His SON came home — not 'the diabetic,' not 'the patient,' but His BELOVED boy.
