"Healing miracles ended with the apostles. God doesn't work that way anymore in our modern age."
How it sounds in your head: I've been taught miracles were just to establish the early church. Now we have medicine and science—that's how God works today. Expecting supernatural healing is naive and sets people up for disappointment when nothing happens.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
-- Hebrews 13:8Source: Cessationist theology teaching God turned off His power after the canon closed, making Him a deist watchmaker who wound up creation and stepped back.
Everyone in my educated circles says miracles are psychological or exaggerated—believing otherwise feels anti-intellectual. Plus I've seen people pray for healing and nothing happened, so maybe it really was just for Bible times.
Enoch walked with God for 300 years in a pre-law, pre-prophets, pre-everything era—then God just took him without dying. If God could bypass death itself in Genesis before any 'official' covenant structure, He's not limited by what theological era you think you're in.
I REFUSE the lie that God's power has an expiration date. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever—what He did then, He does NOW. I am Abraham's seed by covenant, heir to the BARAK blessing that protected murderers and liars, how much more does it heal me in the BETTER covenant! IT IS WRITTEN in Mark 16:18 that believers will lay hands on the sick and they will recover—I am a believer, this promise is MINE. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells IN ME, and I carry resurrection power in my mortal body. Healing didn't retire—religion just stopped believing.
The Father isn't waiting for church history to cycle back to a 'miracle season'—He's healing someone right now while you read this, simply because that's who He IS. He didn't change His mind about your body between Acts and today; you're covered by the same blood that healed the woman with the issue, and her Jesus is your Jesus THIS SECOND.
