"God heals some but not others based on His mysterious sovereign choice. We can't know why."

How it sounds in your head: You've seen one person healed, another die. Same faith, same prayers, different outcomes. The only explanation that protects God's goodness is mysterious sovereignty—He chooses, we accept, we don't question. Anything else makes Him arbitrary or impotent.

Matthew 8:16-17

"When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: 'He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'"

-- Matthew 8:16-17
Enemy whispers: God heals some mysteriously but not others. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Matthew 8:16-17 - 'He healed ALL who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.' ALL. Not 'some according to secret sovereignty.' ALL—because He TOOK them. Healing was purchased, finished, provided. No mystery—just provision.
Quick Truth: LIE: God heals some mysteriously, not others. TRUTH: He healed ALL who were sick—He took our sicknesses. (Matthew 8:16-17)

Source: Calvinist hyper-sovereignty weaponized to explain unanswered prayers while defending God's reputation at the expense of His revealed will.

Why this feels true:

The theological puzzle seems unsolvable otherwise. If healing is always His will, why isn't everyone healed? Mysterious sovereignty is the escape hatch that preserves His goodness while accommodating reality.

Luke 17:11-19
The ten lepers

Ten lepers cried out to Jesus for mercy. He told them, 'Go show yourselves to the priests.' As they went in obedience, ALL TEN were cleansed—not some, not the most faithful, ALL. Nine never returned to thank Him, but all ten were healed. His willingness wasn't based on gratitude or mystery.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that God heals some but not others based on secret sovereignty. IT IS WRITTEN: He healed ALL who were sick—He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. Healing isn't a mystery; it's a finished work. IT IS WRITTEN: by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, purchased, done. I am Abraham's seed, under the BARAK blessing that promises health, strength, life. The same Jesus who healed ALL in Matthew 8 is the same yesterday, today, forever. I receive healing now because it was provided then.

But God actually:

The Father isn't playing favorites, selecting some for healing while withholding from others. His will is ALL—He healed ALL who came, He provided healing for ALL through the cross, He sent His word to heal ALL. When healing doesn't manifest, the gap isn't His unwillingness; it's the brokenness of a fallen world where we 'see in part, know in part,' where the enemy steals and faith is still growing.
