"Healing is not guaranteed in this life; I have to wait for heaven."
How it sounds in your head: Sure, there'll be no sickness in heaven, but that's not for now. This world is broken and bodies fail—that's just reality. Healing might happen, but it's not promised. Your real hope is the resurrection, not healing now. Don't get your hopes up.
"If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you."
-- Exodus 15:26Escapist theology that postpones all promises to the afterlife, gutting the present power of the gospel and making Jesus' earthly healing ministry irrelevant.
You've watched godly people die of cancer. You've seen babies with terminal illnesses. If healing was guaranteed, why do Christians still get sick and die? It feels presumptuous to claim healing when reality shows otherwise.
Isaiah told him 'set your house in order, you WILL die.' Hezekiah prayed, and before Isaiah left the courtyard, God sent him back with a different message: 'I will ADD 15 years to your life and HEAL you.' Death sentence REVERSED in minutes.
I REFUSE the lie that healing is only for heaven. IT IS WRITTEN that God declared 'I AM the Lord who HEALS you'—present tense identity, not future promise. Jesus bore my sicknesses at the cross—FINISHED work. IT IS WRITTEN in 1 Peter 2:24 that by His stripes I WAS healed, past tense. If Old Covenant believers received healing, how much MORE do I under the BETTER covenant? I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK blessing that includes health NOW. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit TODAY. I receive complete healing in THIS life, NOW.
Your Father didn't tell the prodigal 'you'll get the robe in heaven, just wear rags for now'—He clothed him IMMEDIATELY. The ring, robe, and sandals were for the present, not the afterlife. Your Father's goodness is for NOW, not just eternity.
