"God's will must be different than what I'm asking—I need to align my prayers with His mysterious plan."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I'm praying for the wrong thing. Maybe His will is actually for this marriage to end, this business to fail, this diagnosis to stay. Maybe I need to stop asking and just surrender to whatever He wants.
"Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul."
-- 3 John 1:2Religious teaching that presents God's will as mysterious and usually opposite to your desires, making His nature suspect rather than good.
Years of praying for something good and not receiving it creates the logical conclusion that God must want something different—and 'surrender' feels more spiritual than continuing to ask.
Jairus's 12-year-old daughter was dying, then died while Jesus was delayed. People said, 'Why trouble the teacher anymore?' Looked like God's will was death. Jesus said, 'Do not fear, only believe,' went in, took her hand, and raised her IMMEDIATELY—God's will was LIFE, not the death everyone had resigned to.
I REFUSE the lie that God's will is mysterious suffering or that my desire for good is misaligned with His plan. IT IS WRITTEN that His will is for me to PROSPER in ALL THINGS and be in HEALTH. I am Abraham's seed, heir of the BARAK blessing—blessed in the city, blessed in the field, blessed coming in, blessed going out. That's not mystery—that's COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE, and the thief comes to steal, kill, destroy. If my prayer is for LIFE, it's already aligned with the Father's heart. I am not trying to decode a hidden agenda. I am receiving the stated will: the BLESSING, not the curse. I declare: my Father's will toward me is GOOD, always GOOD, only GOOD.
Your Father's will isn't a mystery requiring you to surrender your good desires—His will is clearly stated as LIFE, HEALTH, PROVISION, BLESSING. He's not the distant deity with a hidden agenda. He's the Father running toward you with the fattened calf, whose will is ABUNDANT GOODNESS for you.
