"God's 'wait' is just a kind way of saying 'no, not for you.'"
How it sounds in your head: Maybe 'wait' is how God lets people down easy. He says 'wait' instead of 'no' so I don't lose faith, but the outcome is the same. Other people get yes; I get the eternal wait. It's a polite rejection.
"The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD."
-- Lamentations 3:25-26Religion + Enemy—the lie that God operates with passive-aggressive communication and that 'wait' is code for rejection rather than a genuine directive with purpose.
When you're 90+ and still waiting, 'wait' and 'never' feel functionally identical. Watching others receive immediate yes while you get perpetual wait feels like soft rejection.
Simeon was promised by the Holy Spirit that he would NOT DIE before seeing the Messiah. He waited his entire life, possibly decades. At the end of his life, Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple—Simeon held Him and said, 'Now I can die in peace.' His long wait ended in perfect fulfillment.
I REFUSE the lie that God's 'wait' is a polite rejection. IT IS WRITTEN that the LORD is GOOD to those who wait for Him. Wait is not no—it is divine preparation. Simeon waited his entire life and held Messiah before he died. Abraham waited 25 years and received Isaac. My wait has purpose and will end in perfect fulfillment. IT IS WRITTEN that I am blessed with faithful Abraham, and the BARAK blessing makes me the lender and not the borrower, even in my waiting season. God's wait means 'I'm working'—not 'you're disqualified.' I wait with hope.
The Father isn't being passive-aggressive with you—He's being strategic. Like Simeon who waited his whole life and held Messiah before dying, your wait will end in fulfillment that makes every year worth it. He's not rejecting you; He's preparing something so good that the wait will vanish in the joy.
