"I should have moved faster when I was younger. Now it's too late."
How it sounds in your head: All those years you hesitated, sought counsel, waited on God—you should have just acted. Younger you had energy, time, opportunity. You wasted your prime being cautious. Now you're paying for it with regret and limited options.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Enemy condemnation using hindsight to create regret and accusation that obedience was foolishness.
He looks back at decisions that seemed wise then but appear timid now. Other men who took risks seem better off. His caution looks like cowardice through the rearview mirror.
Job lost EVERYTHING—children, wealth, health—in what seemed like wasted suffering. At the end, God restored DOUBLE everything he lost. His latter days were more blessed than his beginning. Total restoration came suddenly after prolonged devastation.
I REFUSE the lie that my younger years were wasted or that regret disqualifies my future. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE the years the locust has eaten. Every delay, every detour, every 'missed opportunity' is being redeemed for His glory. IT IS WRITTEN that He works ALL things together for good. The BARAK blessing doesn't start when I think I deserve it—it's ALREADY operating. Job's end was greater than his beginning. So is mine. My best is ahead.
The Father isn't shaking His head at your younger choices—He's been weaving every decision, even the ones you regret, into a tapestry of redemption. Like Job's double restoration, God is preparing to give you MORE in your final years than you had in your prime, making every tear worth it.
