"God won't heal my mind because I didn't have enough faith my whole life"
How it sounds in your head: I see others with peaceful, clear minds at my age. I must not have prayed enough, believed enough, confessed enough. This mental torment is what I get for lukewarm faith. I missed my window.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Word of Faith teaching that makes healing contingent on the quality of one's faith, creating condemnation.
He compares himself to others who seem mentally sharp and at peace, concluding his struggle is evidence of deficient faith. The 'if you had more faith' messages he's heard for decades feel proven now.
Bartimaeus was a blind beggar who simply cried out 'Jesus, have mercy on me!' and immediately received his sight. Jesus said 'your faith has made you well'—not 'your decades of perfect believing,' but his present-moment cry for mercy.
I REFUSE the lie that healing requires perfect faith. IT IS WRITTEN that Christ died for me while I was STILL A SINNER—He moved first. My healing is based on HIS finished work, not my faith quality. I am under the BARAK blessing which includes mental clarity and peace. IT IS WRITTEN: by His stripes I WAS healed—past tense, already accomplished. The same power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in me NOW. I receive mental peace and clarity as a gift, not an achievement. Jesus, have mercy on me—and like Bartimaeus, I receive NOW.
Your Father doesn't withhold healing until you reach some faith threshold. He's like the father of the prodigal—running toward you with the robe of healing before you finish your repentance speech.
