"God won't heal my body until I heal my relationship with food and exercise."
How it sounds in your head: You know you eat junk and skip the gym. Pastors say 'your body is a temple' - maybe God is waiting for you to steward it better before He intervenes with your chronic fatigue or hormonal issues.
"When Jesus heard that, He said to them, 'Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.'"
-- Matthew 9:12Religion makes healing conditional on behavior modification, turning grace into transaction where God responds to your discipline.
Health influencers and Christian wellness accounts preach that God gave you a body to steward. It feels irresponsible to ask for healing while eating Hot Cheetos for dinner.
Man was invalid 38 YEARS - hadn't walked in nearly four decades, probably severe muscle atrophy from lying there. Jesus didn't prescribe physical therapy plan; He said 'RISE, take up your bed and walk' and IMMEDIATELY man was made well and walked.
I REFUSE the lie that God waits for my wellness routine before healing me. IT IS WRITTEN: Matthew 9:12 - Jesus came for the SICK, which means me, right now, with my Hot Cheetos and skipped workouts. He heals because HE IS HEALER (Exodus 15:26), not because I've earned it. IT IS WRITTEN: Mark 5:34 - woman with issue was healed by FAITH, not by fixing her diet first. I am blessed with Abraham's barak (Galatians 3:13-14) - the blessing wasn't contingent on Abraham's health choices. Even when he LIED repeatedly, blessing stayed. My body receives healing NOW as GIFT, not achievement. Chronic fatigue breaks, hormones balance, energy floods my cells because Jesus took sickness 2000 years ago. I steward health FROM wholeness, not FOR wholeness. I am healed.
Father isn't waiting for you to do ten burpees before releasing healing - He healed the invalid at Bethesda who hadn't moved in 38 years, no physical therapy required. He's running toward you with strength in His wings.
