"God won't bless my future because of my sexual past"

How it sounds in your head: I've slept with too many people, gone too far, seen too much. Even if God forgives me, there are consequences. My future wife will pay the price for my past. God can't fully bless a marriage built on my broken foundation.

Joel 2:25

"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."

-- Joel 2:25
Enemy whispers: Your sexual past disqualifies your future. BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Joel 2:25 - 'I will RESTORE to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.' RESTORE. Not 'work around the damage.' Not 'make the best of the ruins.' RESTORE. What the locust ate—your purity, your innocence, your clean slate—God RESTORES. Your past doesn't build the foundation of your future. JESUS'S BLOOD does. God doesn't give you damaged-goods blessing. He gives FULL RESTORATION.
Quick Truth: LIE: Sexual past ruins future. TRUTH: God RESTORES years the locust ate—not damaged, RENEWED. Joel 2:25

Source: Reaping/sowing karma theology that treats sexual sin as uniquely unforgiven with permanent consequences

Why this feels true:

Purity culture taught him that sexual sin creates soul ties, damages, and permanent consequences that even forgiveness can't erase. He carries shame that feels like it will contaminate any future relationship or blessing.

Joshua 2:1-21, Matthew 1:5
Rahab

Rahab was a prostitute—her entire identity was sexual sin, not just a past mistake. Yet God brought her into the covenant, married her to a Hebrew man, placed her in the MESSIANIC LINE, and she's honored in Hebrews 11 as a hero of faith.

Speak this out loud

I REFUSE the lie that my sexual past disqualifies my future. IT IS WRITTEN that God will RESTORE the years the locust has eaten—He doesn't work around my damage, He ERASES it. My past doesn't contaminate my future marriage or blessing. IT IS WRITTEN in 2 Corinthians 5:17 that if I'm in Christ, I am a NEW creation—old things PASSED AWAY, all things became NEW. Not 'mostly new with a damaged foundation.' COMPLETELY NEW. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. The BARAK blessing doesn't ask for sexual résumés. Rahab was a prostitute and entered the Messianic line. God doesn't give me second-class blessing. He gives FULL restoration.

But God actually:

The Father doesn't see you through the lens of your sexual past—He sees you through the blood of Jesus, which makes you COMPLETELY new, not partially damaged. Your future wife receives a man restored, not ruined, because God doesn't do partial redemption.
