"God won't bless my future because I've made too many wrong choices"
How it sounds in your head: I changed majors twice. I dated that guy everyone warned me about. I got drunk and hooked up at that party. I've wasted so much time and made so many mistakes—God's plan for me is probably ruined now.
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you."
-- Joel 2:25Religion teaching that God's blessing is contingent on making right choices, and wrong turns disqualify you from His best.
She's watching peers graduate on time while she's behind, seeing friends in healthy relationships while her last one was a disaster. Every wrong choice feels like it closed a door to God's 'Plan A' for her life, leaving her with scraps.
Rahab was a Canaanite prostitute—an enemy of Israel, living in sexual sin, worshiping false gods. She made one right choice to hide the spies, and God not only saved her but placed her in the lineage of JESUS. Her past didn't disqualify her; God USED her story to display His redemption in the Messianic line.
I REFUSE the lie that my past mistakes disqualify my future blessing. IT IS WRITTEN that God restores the years the locusts have eaten, and He specializes in resurrection stories. Rahab was a prostitute in the Messianic line. Ruth was a widow who 'happened' into her destiny. Moses murdered and still delivered a nation. My wrong turns don't cancel God's plan—they become part of the testimony. IT IS WRITTEN that I am a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away (2 Corinthians 5:17). The BARAK blessing that covered Abraham's lies and Jacob's deception covers my missteps. God doesn't give me Plan B—He REDEEMS Plan A in ways I never imagined. My future is BRIGHT, not ruined.
The Father doesn't look at your transcript of mistakes and sigh over what could have been—He looks at you with EXCITED eyes, already seeing the masterpiece He's making from the mess. He's not giving you leftovers; He's preparing a FEAST, and every detour becomes a setup for greater glory.
