"God wants me to be content with less while others get more—that's just my calling."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe you're supposed to be the humble one who learns to be happy with little while they get blessed with abundance. Perhaps your purpose is to be content in struggle while they're called to influence with wealth. God has different plans for different people, and yours is the 'less' plan.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."
-- 3 John 1:2Religion twists contentment Scriptures to justify lack, teaching God assigns poverty to some as a spiritual gift while ignoring He wants ALL to prosper.
You've heard sermons on contentment and 'blessed are the poor in spirit.' Some missionaries live simply. Maybe that's your calling—to be the content-with-less person while others are blessed to give.
Abraham was called to leave everything and follow God. Did God assign him poverty as his 'humble calling'? No. Genesis 13:2 says he became VERY RICH in livestock, silver, and gold. God's call included blessing, not lack disguised as humility.
I REFUSE the lie that God wants me content with less while others get more. IT IS WRITTEN: God wants me to PROSPER in all things and be in health. Contentment isn't settling for lack—it's trusting Him in all circumstances while expecting His abundance. IT IS WRITTEN: I am blessed coming in and going out, and the Lord takes pleasure in my prosperity. The BARAK blessing isn't reserved for others—it's mine by covenant. I can be content AND expect God's provision. He's not assigning me poverty—He's calling me to abundance.
Your Father isn't assigning you to the 'less' category while blessing others more. He's the God who takes pleasure in your prosperity and wants you to prosper in ALL things—He's running toward you with abundance, not asking you to settle for scraps and call it humility.
