"God uses sickness to teach lessons and build character, so seeking healing opposes His purposes."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this illness is God trying to humble me or teach me dependence. Praying for healing might be fighting against the very tool God's using to mature me—wouldn't that be resisting His will?
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him."
-- Acts 10:38Source: Religious teaching that makes God the author of sickness, confusing Satan's attack with Father's training, turning God into a cosmic abuser.
People say suffering produces perseverance, and the Bible talks about trials building faith. If I'm sick, maybe I'm supposed to learn something first before God releases healing—asking for healing prematurely might mean I miss the lesson.
Religious friends told Job his suffering was God's judgment and teaching—they were WRONG, and God rebuked them. The moment Job prayed for his miserable counselors, God restored DOUBLE everything he lost INSTANTLY—sickness was Satan's attack, not God's curriculum.
I REFUSE the lie that my Father authors sickness to teach me lessons. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus healed ALL who were oppressed by the devil—sickness is demonic oppression, not divine education. God is not an abuser hiding lessons in cancer; He's a healer running toward me with restoration. I am blessed with the BARAK of Abraham, the covenant that protected even when they sinned—how much more does it heal me in the BETTER covenant purchased by Jesus' blood! IT IS WRITTEN in 3 John 1:2 that God wishes above all things that I prosper and be in HEALTH—that's His will, PERIOD. I receive healing NOW, not after I've 'learned enough.'
The Father isn't making you sick to mature you—He's running toward you enraged at the disease stealing His child's life, the same way Jesus wept and groaned at Lazarus' tomb before annihilating death. While you're trying to find the lesson in your pain, He's trying to destroy the pain and restore you to the party He's been preparing.
