How it sounds in your head: You want financial breakthrough but you're terrified your motives aren't perfect. You second-guess every desire - is it selfish? Is it greedy? You feel like God is waiting for you to want money for 'the right reasons' before He'll release it, and you're never sure you qualify.

Enemy whispers: 'Your motives aren't pure enough for God to bless you.' BUT IT IS WRITTEN: Genesis 12:10-20 - Abraham LIED to Pharaoh, saying Sarah was his sister to save his own skin (selfish motive). God didn't cancel the blessing. He PLAGUED Pharaoh to protect Abraham the liar and sent him away RICHER than he came. Abraham's blessing wasn't based on pure motives. It was based on COVENANT. The BARAK protected him WHILE he sinned. Galatians 3:14 - that SAME blessing is yours through Christ. Your righteousness is a GIFT (Romans 5:17), not something you generate with perfect motives.

WHERE THIS LIE COMES FROM

James talks about asking with wrong motives (James 4:3), and you've been taught God examines your heart before releasing anything. It feels safer to assume your motives are wrong than to risk being greedy.

He lied out of fear, used his wife to save himself (terrible motives). God didn't punish him or withhold blessing. Instead, God defended him, plagued Pharaoh, and Abraham left Egypt RICHER - 'he had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male and female servants, female donkeys, and camels.'
