"God must be angry at me for mismanaging what He gave me."
How it sounds in your head: I had resources, opportunities, even good income at times - and I blew it. God trusted me with provision and I mismanaged it. He's disappointed. He's not going to give me another chance.
"But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)."
-- Ephesians 2:4-5Religious lie of an angry God who withdraws when we mismanage, projecting human disappointment onto Father.
Sermons about stewardship and 'faithful with little' made provision feel like a test he failed, and now God is withholding.
Son demanded inheritance early (insulting), blew EVERYTHING on prostitutes and wild living (ultimate mismanagement). Father saw him coming, felt COMPASSION, RAN to him, embraced him, threw a party - zero anger, only extravagant love.
I REFUSE the lie that God is angry at my financial mismanagement. IT IS WRITTEN that He is RICH IN MERCY because of His GREAT LOVE - He loved me when I was dead in sin, how much more now? The prodigal squandered everything on prostitutes, and the father RAN toward him with compassion and celebration. That's MY Father. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus. God doesn't see disappointment - He sees His BELOVED SON. The BARAK blessing isn't withdrawn for mismanagement - it's COVENANT. I receive His mercy, His love, and His provision RIGHT NOW.
Your Father isn't disappointed and withholding. He's the one who ran toward the son who blew everything, who threw a party for the one who mismanaged it all. He's RICH IN MERCY, and His response to your financial mess is extravagant love and fresh provision because that's who He is.
