"God let the market crash to teach me not to love money. This is punishment for greed."
How it sounds in your head: I was too focused on building wealth. God needed to humble me and show me what really matters. This loss is divine discipline for having wrong priorities.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Religious lie that God authors suffering and uses financial loss as correction—makes Him the enemy, not the enemy the enemy.
Prosperity-gospel-backlash teaching says if you lost money, you loved it too much. Suffering-builds-character theology is everywhere in church culture.
Abraham was 'very rich in livestock, silver, and gold'—massively wealthy. God never rebuked him for it, never took it away to teach him humility. Instead, God kept increasing him and called him 'friend.' Wealth wasn't the problem.
I REFUSE the lie that God authors loss. IT IS WRITTEN that every good gift comes from the Father of lights with NO VARIATION—He doesn't give then take to teach lessons. The thief comes to steal, but Jesus came to give ABUNDANT LIFE. My Father's nature is INCREASE, not decrease. The BARAK blessing pursued Abraham the wealthy, protected Jacob the deceiver, enriched Joseph suddenly. IT IS WRITTEN in 3 John 1:2 that God desires I prosper even as my soul prospers. I reject poverty theology and receive the blessing Christ purchased—provision is my covenant right, not a test I failed.
The Father isn't punishing your desire to build—He's the one who gave you that desire. He blessed Solomon with wealth beyond measure and never rebuked him for asking. He delights in your prosperity.
