"God must be punishing me for pride by letting me lose money."
How it sounds in your head: I got arrogant thinking I could invest successfully, and God humbled me by taking it away. This loss is divine discipline for my prideful heart. Maybe if I stay humble and small with finances, He'll bless me again.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Religious teaching that God authors financial loss as punishment and character-building through suffering.
Church teaching about 'God's discipline' and 'pride comes before a fall' creates framework where every loss feels like divine retribution. The timing seems too coincidental to not be God's hand.
Jacob was a deceiver and manipulator—lied to his father, cheated his brother, schemed with his mother. God didn't punish him into poverty—He wrestled with him, blessed him, changed his name to ISRAEL, and made him father of nations.
I REFUSE the lie that my financial loss is God's punishment for pride. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief steals but Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life, and I know WHO authored this loss—not my Father. God doesn't punish His children with poverty to teach humility—He GIVES good gifts because that's His nature. Abraham LIED and got RICHER. Jacob DECEIVED and became ISRAEL. The BARAK blessing flows regardless of my perfect humility scorecard. IT IS WRITTEN in John 3:17 that Jesus came NOT to condemn but to save. I am saved, sealed, and blessed—not as reward for humility but as GIFT through grace. My Father is running toward me with ABUNDANCE, not withholding to build my character through lack.
The Father isn't using your stock loss as a humility workshop—He's grieving WITH you over what the thief stole, and preparing your restoration. While religion says 'stay small to stay blessed,' He says 'I came for ABUNDANT life.'
