"God is withholding marriage because I haven't dealt with my issues"
How it sounds in your head: You've heard the teachings: God won't bring someone until you're 'healed' and 'whole.' Every unresolved trauma, every counseling session not yet scheduled, every emotional wound feels like a barrier between you and blessing. You're not ready, not fixed, not there yet.
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
-- Romans 5:8Religious teaching that treats God's blessing like a carrot on a stick, always just beyond your current level of healing
Christian dating culture teaches 'work on yourself first,' making singleness feel like a spiritual holding pattern until you achieve some undefined level of wholeness. The unspoken message: broken people don't deserve love.
Rahab was an active prostitute when God brought her into covenant—she didn't clean up first, get therapy, or achieve wholeness. She stepped into faith with her broken story still attached and ended up in the Messianic line.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds blessing until I'm fixed. IT IS WRITTEN that God loved me while I was still a sinner, not after I achieved wholeness. I am not disqualified by unhealed wounds or unresolved issues. IT IS WRITTEN that Jesus came for the sick, not the healthy, and His kindness leads to transformation. I don't heal to earn blessing; I'm blessed in the midst of healing. The Father doesn't demand perfection before provision.
The Father isn't standing with arms crossed waiting for you to complete some healing checklist—He's running toward you with the robe and ring while you still smell like the pig pen. His blessings aren't rewards for emotional health; they're gifts of grace.
