"God is withholding breakthrough in your daughter's life until she fully repents of everything."
How it sounds in your head: She said she's sorry but she's still dating that guy, still posting thirst traps, still going to bars. Maybe God is waiting for her to actually change her life before He moves. Doesn't true repentance mean turning completely around?
"A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench, till He sends forth justice to victory."
-- Matthew 12:20Source: Religious teaching that makes God's movement contingent on perfect repentance, creating an impossible standard that keeps prodigals in outer darkness.
Her 'repentance' doesn't look like the altar call promises - she's still messy, still making questionable choices. It feels naive to believe God would move while she's still half in/half out.
Jesus offered her living water while she was living with a man who wasn't her husband - her fifth marriage had failed and she was in an immoral relationship. He gave her revelation and revival BEFORE she changed her relationship status, and she became the first evangelist to her city.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds breakthrough until perfect repentance. IT IS WRITTEN that He will not quench the smoking flax - He moves toward the SMALLEST SPARK, not away from imperfect turning. My daughter doesn't have to clean up to encounter the Father; she encounters the Father and THEN cleans up because His goodness leads to repentance, not the reverse. IT IS WRITTEN in John 6:37 that whoever comes to Him He will NEVER cast out - not 'never cast out the ones who fully repent first.' I declare she is encountering His goodness NOW, messy middle and all, and breakthrough doesn't wait for her to earn it.
The Father is already breaking through in her life in ways you can't see - every 3 AM conviction, every moment of emptiness with that guy, every post she deletes before sharing. He's not waiting for her full surrender; He's orchestrating it through relentless kindness.
