"God is using this mental struggle to teach me something or build character."
How it sounds in your head: There must be a reason for this. Maybe God is trying to get my attention, teach me patience, or break my pride. If I figure out the lesson, maybe He'll take it away.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Religious teaching that makes God the author of suffering instead of the Healer of it.
Finding meaning in suffering feels better than random chaos. If there's a lesson, at least the pain has purpose and he has some control through learning it.
When asked whose sin caused the man's blindness, Jesus said 'Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him' - then immediately healed him. God didn't prolong suffering for character development. He revealed His nature through instant healing.
I REFUSE the lie that God authors suffering for character building. IT IS WRITTEN that the thief comes to destroy but Jesus comes to give abundant life. My Father is not withholding healing until I learn a lesson - He's offering breakthrough NOW. I am not under the curse of mental torment because IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13 that Christ redeemed me from the curse. The BARAK blessing includes soundness of mind as covenant right, not earned reward. I receive the works of God revealed through healing, not through prolonged suffering. The Father runs toward me with relief, not standing back with a lesson plan.
Jesus didn't leave the blind man blind for 38 years to teach character. He healed him immediately to reveal the Father's heart. Your healing reveals God's nature, not your lesson-learning.
