"God is using this autoimmune disease to draw me closer to Him."
How it sounds in your head: I do pray more when I'm in pain. Maybe He needs to keep me here to keep me seeking. When I feel better, I drift—maybe He knows I need this anchor. Perhaps desperation is the only thing that keeps me dependent.
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning."
-- James 1:17Source: Religion that credits God with the enemy's work, making the Father who runs toward you into a taskmaster who breaks you to control you.
Pain does drive her to prayer, creating correlation that feels like causation. Sermons about 'suffering producing perseverance' make sickness sound like spiritual strategy.
Deathly sick, told by the prophet to set his house in order because he would die—Hezekiah wept and prayed, and before the prophet left the courtyard, God sent him back with healing. Fifteen years ADDED to his life, INSTANT reversal of the death sentence.
I REFUSE the lie that my Father authors disease to manipulate closeness. IT IS WRITTEN that every good gift comes from the Father of lights, with no variation—and autoimmune attack is NOT a good gift. The enemy comes to kill and destroy; Jesus comes to give abundant life. IT IS WRITTEN in 3 John 2 that God wishes above all that I prosper and be in HEALTH even as my soul prospers. I draw close to Him in health and wholeness, not through sickness. I am Abraham's seed, and the BARAK covers my immune system with divine order.
Your Father doesn't need to break your body to win your heart—He already won it by breaking His own body for you. He's not keeping you sick to keep you close; He's running toward you with healing because closeness in HEALTH is His design.
