"God is testing my character before He can trust me with the answer."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe I'm not mature enough yet. God is probably seeing if I'll stay faithful in the waiting. This delay is character-building. Once I pass this test, THEN He'll release the breakthrough. I need to prove I can handle it.
"But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry.'"
-- Luke 15:22-23Religious teaching that portrays God as withholding Father who makes you earn maturity before blessing.
Every sermon on waiting talks about 'the wilderness season' and 'proving yourself faithful.' You've been told breakthrough comes AFTER the test, so you're white-knuckling through, trying to pass.
Came home broke, ashamed, smelling like pigs, with a 'make me a servant' speech prepared. Father didn't say 'Let's see if you're serious—work for a year first.' He RAN to him, KISSED him, RESTORED him fully in approximately 15 MINUTES. From pig pen to party with zero proving period.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds blessing until I pass character tests. IT IS WRITTEN that while I was STILL A SINNER, Christ died for me—meaning God blessed me BEFORE I had character. The Father didn't make the prodigal prove himself—He RESTORED him instantly. I don't earn the BARAK blessing by maturity; IT IS WRITTEN that I'm blessed because I'm in Christ, and He's already mature enough. God's blessing doesn't wait for my perfection—it PRODUCES my transformation. I receive NOW what religion says I must earn LATER.
Your Father isn't dangling the blessing just out of reach until you jump high enough. Like the prodigal's father who had the robe and ring READY before the son even arrived, your Father has prepared your answer and is watching for your return, not your perfection.
