"God is testing me with this season of lack to build my character."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this struggle is God's classroom. He's withholding breakthrough until you learn the lesson. Your job loss, your breakup, your financial crisis—it's all a divine test, and if you complain, you fail and have to repeat the grade.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
-- John 10:10Source: Religion's theology that makes God the author of suffering, ignoring that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, not partner with them.
You've heard a thousand sermons about 'the wilderness season' and 'waiting on God's timing.' Your small group leader said 'God won't waste this season' and to 'embrace the process.' It feels spiritual to believe suffering is purposeful rather than admit the enemy is stealing from you.
The journey from Egypt to the Promised Land was 11 DAYS. God's plan was INSTANT entry into abundance. They wandered 40 YEARS because of unbelief—not because God wanted to 'develop them,' but because they rejected His immediate blessing.
I REFUSE the lie that God is teaching me through lack. IT IS WRITTEN: the thief comes to steal, Jesus came to give ABUNDANT life. God isn't the author of my struggle—He's my deliverer FROM it. The Promised Land was 11 DAYS away—the 40 years was UNBELIEF, not God's curriculum. I am redeemed from the CURSE of lack, blessed with the BLESSING of abundance. IT IS WRITTEN: it is God's GOOD PLEASURE to give me the kingdom. I reject the 'wilderness theology' that makes God my withholder. He is my PROVIDER, my ABUNDANCE, my BREAKTHROUGH—and I receive it NOW, not after earning it through suffering.
Your Father isn't holding back breakthrough to see if you'll learn patience. He's the Father who wanted the Israelites in the Promised Land in 11 days, who gives the kingdom because it's His GOOD PLEASURE—and He's not testing you, He's trying to BLESS you if you'll believe His goodness.
