"God is teaching me to trust Him through this disease, so healing would short-circuit the lesson."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe the point isn't healing but learning to trust Him whether I'm healed or not. Maybe He wants me to get to the place where I'm okay either way. If I push for healing, am I trying to control instead of surrender?
"And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, 'Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.' Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, 'I am willing; be cleansed.' Immediately his leprosy was cleansed."
-- Matthew 8:2-3Source: Religion framing faith as passivity and acceptance rather than active receiving, making trust equal resignation instead of confidence in God's goodness.
Surrender sounds spiritual, and insisting on healing feels demanding. He's been taught that true faith accepts whatever comes, not that it receives what's promised.
The centurion came asking Jesus to heal his paralyzed, suffering servant. Jesus didn't say 'learn to trust Me through his suffering.' He said 'I will come and heal him,' and when the centurion showed great faith, Jesus said 'as you have believed, so let it be done.' That very hour the servant was healed—immediate response to faith that expected healing.
I REFUSE the lie that trust means accepting sickness. IT IS WRITTEN that when the leper questioned God's willingness, Jesus said 'I AM WILLING'—removing all doubt. True faith receives what's promised, not resigns to what's feared. IT IS WRITTEN by His stripes I WAS healed. I am Abraham's seed under the BARAK covenant of blessing. I trust my Father BY receiving the healing He already provided, not by refusing it. I receive instant healing NOW because Jesus said 'I am willing' and He hasn't changed His mind.
Your Father isn't waiting for you to stop wanting healing so He can teach you something. He's waiting for you to believe He's already willing, already running toward you with it. The prodigal's father didn't make him trust without the robe—he gave the robe to prove he could be trusted.
