"God is silent because I need to learn something first—He's teaching me through unanswered prayer."
How it sounds in your head: Maybe this delay is God's classroom. You need to learn patience, or humility, or trust. Once you've learned the lesson, THEN He'll answer. But you can't figure out what lesson it is, so you're stuck in perpetual detention.
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
-- James 1:5Source: Religious teaching that makes God a cruel teacher instead of a good Father, withholding until you pass the test.
Preachers say 'God is teaching you something' about every delay, and it sounds spiritual. But you've been 'learning' for YEARS with no graduation, no breakthrough, no end in sight.
Bartimaeus was a blind beggar who had been sitting by the road for YEARS, learning nothing except how to beg. When Jesus passed by, he cried out once—no lesson learned, no test passed. Jesus IMMEDIATELY stopped, called him, and healed him on the spot.
I REFUSE the lie that God withholds answers to teach me lessons. IT IS WRITTEN that He gives LIBERALLY and WITHOUT REPROACH—He's not grading my performance. My Father doesn't make me earn wisdom or provision through suffering. IT IS WRITTEN in John 10:10 that Jesus came to give me ABUNDANT LIFE, not abundant lessons through withholding. The BARAK blessing flowed to Abraham even when he LIED—covenant isn't about learning lessons. I receive NOW, not after I've proven I've learned enough.
The Father isn't withholding breakthrough until you learn something—He's a GIVER who runs toward you with PROVISION, not a teacher who withholds until you pass the test. The prodigal smelled like pigs and learned nothing, yet the father RAN with the robe, ring, and party.
