"God is punishing us with poverty because of her financial sin."
How it sounds in your head: We were doing fine until the hidden spending started. Now we're struggling, and it feels like judgment. God removed His blessing because she violated financial stewardship principles.
"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness."
-- Lamentations 3:22-23Religious spirit: God's favor depends on obedience, blessing follows behavior, consequences are God's punishment, reaping what you sow.
The timeline aligns—prosperity followed by discovery followed by financial struggle. Religious teaching about sowing and reaping seems to explain the sequence perfectly as divine cause and effect.
David committed ADULTERY and MURDER—two capital crimes—yet when he said 'I have sinned,' God responded 'The Lord has put away your sin.' His next son, Solomon, became the RICHEST king in history. God didn't remove blessing for sexual and financial sin; He multiplied it.
I REFUSE the lie that God removed blessing because of sin! IT IS WRITTEN in Lamentations 3:22-23, His compassions are NEW EVERY MORNING—today's mercy doesn't depend on yesterday's obedience. My provision comes from COVENANT, not behavior. IT IS WRITTEN in Galatians 3:13, Christ redeemed me from the curse so the BLESSING of Abraham comes upon me—and that blessing protected liars, deceivers, and adulterers. The same God who made Solomon the richest king AFTER David's adultery and murder is commanding blessing on my household RIGHT NOW. His gifts are IRREVOCABLE. I am blessed coming in and going out because of BLOOD, not behavior!
Your Father isn't punishing you—He's running toward you with the ring and robe while you're still in the pig pen of financial mess. His compassion is NEW THIS MORNING, not stale from yesterday's failures, and He's releasing breakthrough that proves His blessing never left.
